Common issues and how to resolve them.
App won’t launch
  • Check that your OS meets the minimum requirements (macOS 11+, Windows 10+, or recent Linux)
  • Try reinstalling the app
Permission errors on macOS
  • Move p0 to your Applications folder
  • Right-click and select “Open” the first time you launch
Windows SmartScreen warning
  • Click “More info” then “Run anyway”
  • This warning appears because the app is not widely distributed yet
Can’t sign in
  • Check your internet connection
  • Verify your email and password are correct
  • Try resetting your password at bepurple.ai
Session expired
  • Sign out and sign back in
  • Check that your system clock is accurate
Workspace won’t create
  • Check you have sufficient disk space
  • Verify git is installed and accessible from the command line
  • Try creating a workspace in a different location
Repository clone fails
  • Check you have access to the repository
  • Verify your SSH keys are set up correctly for private repos
  • Try using HTTPS instead of SSH for the clone URL
Session stuck or unresponsive
  • Try running /compact to reduce context size
  • Start a new sub-chat with Cmd+K or Ctrl+K
  • Close and reopen the tab
Worktree errors
  • Check git status in your main repository
  • Delete stale worktrees manually with git worktree prune
  • Ensure you don’t have uncommitted changes blocking operations
Slow responses
  • Check your internet connection
  • Try switching to Sonnet 4.5 for faster responses
  • Compact your context with Cmd+Shift+K or Ctrl+Shift+K
Unexpected output
  • Provide clearer, more specific instructions
  • Use Plan mode first to review the approach
  • Try breaking complex tasks into smaller steps
Terminal not responding
  • Close and reopen the tab
  • Check that the underlying process hasn’t crashed
Missing icons or broken fonts
  • Install a Nerd Font for proper shell theme icon support
  • Configure your terminal to use the Nerd Font
